Systemic failures in the education system miss the mark for Native students, who are impacted by treaties the U.S. either broke or underfunded. In some communities, about half of Native American students are not finishing high school. Of those who start the first year of college, not all finish due to culture shock, bias, and financial strain.

Year over year, 95% of our scholarship recipients complete the college year and keep going! Our K-12 and college services increase access and retention, ensuring Native students have the resources and encouragement they need. Plus, we stay connected with Native scholars year-round, providing fall welcome packs, spring care packs, laptops, mentoring by Native professionals, and holiday care packs to help ensure their success.(1)
These scholars tell us our AIEF program is the only one that doesn't just write a check and leave. With higher education, we know these future leaders can bring about positive changes in their own lives and your community. Last year, thanks to you, we presented a check to the University of Texas at Arlington for their Native students.

Equity - Partnership With Native Americans (PWNA) is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit committed to championing hope for a brighter future for those living on remote and impoverished reservations. We are a Native-led nonprofit aiding Tribal communities faced with limited resources. Year-round, we provide immediate relief and support long-term solutions for strong, self-sufficient Native American communities.
For over 35 years, we’ve worked alongside Tribal community partners to improve social equity and quality of life for Native Americans – the most underserved group in the United States. For funding to be fair and relevant, non-Native individuals and organizations need to be more NativeAware®. Take education, for example. It's a cornerstone of economic mobility. But it can only be achieved through racial and social equity, especially given U.S. history and oppressive policies that continue to hinder Native Americans today.
That's why we support Native scholars locally and across the country. It takes open hearts and minds, along with social responsibility, to counterbalance the concentrated poverty that Native people face. PWNA opens the door to college, and raises its voice for accurate Native history, racial and social equity to ensure more people are accurately informed about the challenges facing Native peoples.
