Expanding Access to the Arts for North Texas Youth

What happens when young people have the space, tools, and support to tell their own stories?

They write plays. Make films. Create public art. Step onto professional stages. And discover new confidence in what they have to say.

At OutLoud Dallas, young people are valued as artists, storytellers, and collaborators whose ideas deserve to be taken seriously. Through free arts and well-being programs, they work alongside professional artists, create original work, and share it with the public in theaters, galleries, schools, and cultural spaces across North Texas.

In 2025, OutLoud:

  • Served 9,301 youth from 32 North Texas zip codes
  • Provided 1,235 hours of free programming
  • Produced 23 public performances, exhibitions, and community events
  • Reached community audiences of more than 32,000 people

Most participating youth attend Title I schools, and many come to OutLoud with limited or no previous access to sustained arts programming. We remove barriers by offering programs at no cost at our Arts Center, on school campuses, inside our mobile studios, and at community venues throughout the region.

What Your Gift Makes Possible

Through OutLoud Voices, young people explore theater, filmmaking, visual art, photography, music, spoken word, and multimedia storytelling. Their original work reaches the public through performances, exhibitions, film screenings, and programs including See Me, Illuminated Voices, and the OutLoud International Film Festival.

Through restorED, our immersive mobile studios bring arts-based mental health and well-being programming directly to schools. Students use storytelling and creative expression to explore voice, purpose, resiliency, and community while developing practical tools for emotional regulation, belonging, and connection.

Every gift helps provide professional teaching artists, art materials, production equipment, transportation, free school and summer programs, and meaningful public platforms for youth-created work.

We believe youth art belongs on prominent stages, in galleries, at film festivals, and throughout our city—not only on classroom walls.

Make your North Texas Giving Day gift today and help more young people create, connect, and bring their ideas into the world.
