Join Us in Providing Reliable Transportation to Hardworking Families in Need

OnRamp DFW shares God’s grace by gifting reliable vehicles to hard-working people in need to help them on the road to self-sufficiency. Since 2022, we have donated reliable automobiles to over 48 local clients in need who are nominated by advocates from local charitable, religious, educational, and health care organizations. We have seen firsthand the impact of reliable transportation on employment, educational progress, and access to health care.

In DFW, we take driving for granted. 

With the turn of a key, most people can get to work, to the store, or to the doctor with little fuss or worry. Yet for so many families, reliable transportation is simply out of reach,  severely limiting access to jobs, healthy groceries, medical care, and the support of social and religious communities. Though public transportation exists, it can extend travel time by hours and is often unreliable for those living outside of a downtown area. In a sprawling metroplex like Dallas/Ft. Worth, being confined to only where you are able to walk can easily trap people in a cycle of poverty, isolation, and hopelessness.

Who does OnRamp DFW serve?

We partner with professionals from local charitable, government, and religious organizations who nominate people who are working hard to take significant steps towards self-sufficiency, but who need a vehicle to continue that journey. Many of our Clients work full-time jobs, or even multiple jobs at a time. Many raise young kids as a single parent. Some endure countless hours of dialysis or multiple miles of walking to get to and keep their job.  Additionally, a gifted vehicle comes with a year of free maintenance to help our clients make progress on their financial goals, as well as a client care representative from within OnRamp DFW to encourage them along the way.

Our goal for North Texas Giving Day is to raise $12,000 in order to help buy our next client's vehicle. 

This is our average cost of a reliable vehicle that we believe will last a client 5 years, including the average cost of pre-giveaway repairs and post-giveaway maintenance. Your gift will not merely help buy a vehicle, but will contribute to the health and growth of a local family. Below are typical costs for some of the repairs work we do on vehicles before/after giving them away. This is a great way for you to "follow your giving" with us.

$50 - giveaway accessories

$150 - a year of oil changes post-giveaway

$200 - new battery

$500 - four new tires + wheel alignment

$1,400 - average repair cost pre-giveaway

$10,000 - average cost of a car purchase

$12,000 - total cost for car purchase + repairs/maintenance
