TEXAS FACES EXTREME WEATHER. LET’S PLANT FOR OUR FUTURE.
$25,000 GOAL WITH A KEY DONOR DOLLAR-FOR-DOLLAR MATCH

Why Now

North Texas communities are facing extreme heat, drought, rapid growth, pollution and increasing strain on natural resources. Native trees and plants offer a practical solution by conserving water, reducing runoff, filtering pollutants, cooling neighborhoods, and strengthening local ecosystems.

Native vegetation helps conserve water by slowing rainwater runoff, allowing more water to soak into the soil, reducing erosion, shading the ground, and limiting evaporation. Once established, native plants are also better adapted to the Texas climate and generally require less irrigation.

One Earth One Chance turns environmental concern into practical local action.

Plant Restore Conserve Engage
Native trees and plants in local North Texas communities. Habitats, parks, and natural spaces throughout North Texas communities. Protect water by reducing runoff and supporting native landscapes. Volunteers, youth, and adults in hands-on local environmental action.

One Earth One Chance has a vision for our community.

We envision North Texas communities where people work together to plant native trees and plants, restore habitats and green spaces, and protect the natural resources on which we all depend.

We turn environmental concern into practical, local action by:

  • Planting native trees and plants in North Texas communities
  • Restoring habitats, parks, green spaces, and natural areas
  • Engaging volunteers, youth, and adults in hands-on environmental action
  • Providing environmental education that prepares people to care for their communities

For North Texas Giving Day our goal is to raise $25,000.
We are excited to announce that one of our key donors will match every dollar donated to our North Texas Giving Day campaign, doubling the impact of every contribution.

Whether you give $25 or $2,500, your gift puts another tree, another native plant, another volunteer opportunity and another environmental lesson within reach.
We cannot control how hot the next North Texas summer will be. But together, we can choose what we plant, restore and protect today as we have only One Earth and One Chance.
Please consider donating to One Earth One Chance and helping us grow a greener, healthier, and more resilient North Texas.

GIVE TODAY. MAKE TWICE THE IMPACT.

Mission

One Earth One Chance is a nonprofit with a vision that everyone understands the urgency of environmental issues and takes meaningful action to protect our planet.

Our mission is to transform communities through environmental knowledge and opportunities to restore a green, clean, and sustainable planet.

We engage volunteers in native tree and plant installation, habitat restoration, litter cleanup, and invasive-species removal. We also provide environmental education that prepares youth and adults to participate in the emerging green workforce and net-zero economy.

Needs

Our North Texas Giving Day goal is to raise $25,000 to support native trees and plants, irrigation, planting and restoration supplies, cleanup materials, volunteer projects, and environmental education.

Every donation to this campaign will be matched dollar for dollar by one of our key donors.

Programs that need your help:

* Learning Gardens: This is to connect students and teachers to nature by planting native trees and creating engaging outdoor experiential learning areas with raised beds for native herbs, pollinator gardens for biodiversity and signage for awareness building.

* Urban Forests: We are planting pocket forests and native trees in schools, colleges, and neighborhoods to green the landscape, provide shade from heat, and ensure environmental justice for areas disproportionately affected by extreme weather.

* Water Conservation: With the urgency of the water crisis affecting Texas, we are assisting with rainwater harvesting, establishing rain gardens and bioswales and applying permaculture techniques in schools affected by repeat floods.

After donating, check whether your employer offers a charitable matching gift program. Employer rules vary.
