Our program aims to address critical environmental challenges and expand tree canopy coverage to serve the Texas region. By growing trees and native plants, we aim to combat deforestation, enhance biodiversity, create habitats for wildlife, conserve water and drive ecosystem service benefits. By fostering a culture of environmental stewardship, our initiative strives to protect the well-being of Texas and a sustainable future.
We strategically plant trees and shrubs to combat tree canopy loss, air pollution, and the urban heat island effect. By collaborating with local authorities, we target economically disadvantaged neighborhoods and attempt to cool schools. Trees help to stabilize our climate by reducing greenhouse gas concentrations and sequestering carbon via photosynthesis. They also absorb air pollutants, release oxygen for us to breathe, modulate temperatures, improve soil health, and beautify our communities.
Reforestation has consistently ranked as the #1 climate change solution. However, the average canopy cover in the DFW area is 32%, while Atlanta has 48% coverage.
Our goal this year is to raise funds worth $85,000, to grow urban forests (500 native tree plantings, 500 native tree giveaways, and 3,000 native plants), and prepare green ambassadors (150 certifications). We are grateful that you helped us raise $81,000 for urban forestation and habitat restoration, last year. But we need your help to succeed. Let us join hands to restore a clean, green and sustainable planet.

Giving Activity
Mission
One Earth One Chance is a non-profit with a vision that everyone understands the urgency of environmental issues and takes actions to protect our planet.
Our mission is to transform communities with knowledge to address environmental issues and opportunities to restore a green, clean, and sustainable planet.
Volunteers engage in forestation (installing native trees and plants) and restoration (clean up of litter and invasive species) events that build awareness and restore ecosystems. Expanding green spaces improves air quality by acting as a natural filter and enhancing the well-being of residents.
We empower community members with education and certificate programs on sustainability, circularity, innovation and success stories to grow skills for the emerging green workforce and net-zero economy.
