Since its founding in 1968, Northlake Elementary school has been serving the students and families of
Lake Highlands with passion and heart. Northlake Elementary is a Title 1 school with approximately 400 students on our broadly diverse campus; represented with multifaceted and varied cultural and economic demographics.
In addition to our mainstream/general education scholars and those needing additional enrichment, our school community also serves diverse learning scholars. Northlake takes great pride in it's ability to provide support to around 100 students with: IEPs, 4 resource/inclusion instructors, 2 speech therapists providing speech/communication services, 2 dyslexia instructional specialists, an ECSE (early childhood special education) classroom for students ages 3-5 that is led by 1 teacher and 2 paras, 1 Deaf/Hard of Hearing Instructor, an occupational therapist, 2 SDC & 2 SLC classrooms serving students with individualized and high levels of support--as well as students with significant to moderate cognitive impairment and/or autism whose current primary educational focus is determined to be communication. More information about these programs can be found here.
We are committed to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our dedicated teachers and staff work tirelessly to provide a high-quality education. The majority (close to 70%) of our students come from underserved backgrounds, and at NLE, we believe that ALL students deserve the best support we can offer to help them exceed their goals. This year, our non-profit organization PTA goal is to raise $75,000 to assist faculty and staff in making this mission a reality. Growing Every Child. Everyday.
Our budgeted expenses total $62,795. Any additional funds raised will be allocated to special projects. *Members vote on special project allocations at PTA membership meetings.
