Where Your Contribution Goes:
1. Building a Sustainable Organization
NTXSO is working toward a future in which audiences are welcomed, artists feel supported, and versatile, inclusive programming can be sustained year after year. Giving Day will help us build the infrastructure needed to make that future possible.
2. Investing in Research into Innovating Human Resources within Fine Arts
Over the last several decades, there has been a significant reduction in unfair treatment and prejudice in the world of fine arts, but there is still so much to be done and changed. One of the NTXSO's goals is to bring this innovation to even further fruition by researching and implementing procedures to make classical music a safe place to work and create.
3. Operating Costs
Before the music can even begin, NTXSO has to facilitate costs from rehearsal facilities, to storage factilities, to equipment upkeep, and stage equipment to production crew, transportation equipment, and other performance expenses that add up quickly. Your gift would help us put the orchestra on stage so that we can have the ability to do what we do.
4. Materials for Performances
Symphonic works require the rights to perform, materials for the performance itself, and processing of the materials. Just one five-minute piece of music can cost over $2,000, and that's before the orchestra even gets onstage. We also love to support living composers, but as their works aren't yet in the public domain, we wish to pay them for their services. Your support will help us bring music of all types to the North Texas area and feed the families of the hardworking composers of our time.
5. Educational and Community Concerts
As you'll find in so many of our programs, we love to tailor our concerts to the community. Rather than play the music WE want or a specific group of donors wants, we want to play the music EVERYONE will enjoy. We make our organization go TO the audience, NOT make the audience come to us.

NTXSO believes professional music should be a place where people can learn, grow, contribute, and feel that they belong.
Our organization is committed to creating meaningful opportunities for emerging musicians, conductors, educators, composers, and other arts professionals, regardless of their background or where they are in their career. We recognize that not everyone has had the same access to education, professional connections, performance opportunities, or financial resources. We want to help close those gaps by creating opportunities based on ability, potential, dedication, and professionalism—not simply on who someone already knows or what opportunities they have previously been able to access.
We also believe that a healthy artistic environment matters just as much as the music we perform. Our goal is to build a culture where musicians and staff can challenge themselves, make mistakes, ask questions, and contribute ideas without fear of being belittled or excluded. We expect everyone involved with the organization to treat one another with professionalism, respect, and basic human dignity.
Equity also shapes the way we think about our audiences. Symphonic music should not feel like something that belongs only to a particular group of people. We want our concerts to be welcoming to longtime concertgoers and to people attending their first orchestral performance. Through our programming, partnerships, education initiatives, and approach to presenting concerts, we strive to create experiences that are relevant, accessible, and exciting for our entire community.
We know that creating an equitable organization is an ongoing process. We will continue to listen to our musicians, staff, audiences, and community partners, examine the way we operate, and make changes when we can do better.
Ultimately, we want to build an organization where people have the opportunity to do great work, develop as artists and professionals, and know that they are valued members of the community.
