The Collin County Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas helps build connections between residents of Collin and surrounding counties and our local native plants. Through education, outreach, and advocacy, we aim to help residents improve our environment by utilizing local native plants. To this end, our chapter:
The mission of the Native Plant Society of Texas is to promote conservation, research and utilization of native plants and plant habitats of Texas through education, outreach, and example.
Your generous donations to the Collin County Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas (NPSOT) directly support our mission to increase awareness, knowledge, and conservation of North Texas native plants. With your help, we are able to:
- Expand our Native Plant Education and Outreach through public events, workshops, and partnerships with schools, charitable organizations, youth groups, and other community groups across Collin County and North Texas.
- Support the Native Landscape Certification Program (NLCP), making high-quality education and certification in native plant landscaping accessible to more residents.
- Help fund the Bring Back the Monarchs to Texas grant program, protecting and restoring critical monarch and pollinator habitats throughout our region.
- Grow the NICE – Native Plant Partners initiative, connecting gardeners and communities with local nurseries to increase the availability of regionally appropriate native plants.
- Promote and maintain the Native Plant Database, a trusted, accessible resource for anyone seeking to learn about and select North Texas native plants.
- Empower the Native Plants in Schools program, providing grants, resources, and hands-on learning to foster environmental stewardship among students and educators.
- Organize impactful speaker events to share up-to-date information on native plants, conservation, and habitat gardening with members and the community.
- Offer free native plant garden design assistance for approved projects from non-profits, faith organizations, schools, government agencies, and public parks in Collin County and surrounding areas.
- Develop new and innovative programs to advance native plant conservation and environmental education.
- Cover essential administrative expenses to ensure efficient operations and the success of our programs.
Your support is vital to achieving these goals and continuing our mission to promote the conservation, appreciation, and use of native North Texas plants. Thank you for helping us make a lasting impact in our community!
