Inspired to achieve professional success and defeat stereotypes and prejudices faced by Muslims, Samira Maddox and her friends came together to form Mu Delta Alpha in 2014 at the University of Texas at Dallas as "Muslimahs for Change". Our founders sought to support young Muslim girls with strength to overcome obstacles they faced throughout their journey in college. Over time, as the organization gained attention, the purpose behind the organization expanded.
Today, Mu Delta Alpha stands to support all women, regardless of race or religion, and raises its hands high so all women can break the glass ceiling with their own two hands and reach their ultimate goals.

In the Fall of 2016, MDA established its Alpha Chapter at the University of Texas at Dallas with its first pledge class.
In the Fall of 2017, as we expanded to our Beta Chapter at the University of Texas at Austin and Gamma Chapter at the University of North Texas.
We need support in running our leadership academy for girls, we need funds to keep paying the rent for the space we meet at every Saturday during the school year and additionally we take our girls on educational field trips. We need funds so that we can not put a strain on the families during these difficult times. We want to create a scholarship for the girls who graduate from the program to encourage them to continue with their higher education.
Mu Delta Alpha (MΔA) is a Professional Muslim Sorority that inspires leadership in all women and empowers them through professionalism.
