The Metrocrest Chamber Foundation is the charitable and educational arm of the Metrocrest Area Chamber, serving Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Addison, Coppell, and the surrounding Metrocrest region. Our mission is to foster education and workforce development, cultivate leadership, stimulate job creation, and promote sustainable growth throughout the region.
Through innovative programs, scholarships, mentorships, internships, civic education, workforce training, and community partnerships, the Foundation invests in the people who power the Metrocrest economy.
Our work is focused on building pathways to opportunity. We connect employers, educators, students, young professionals, entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, and community partners so that more people have access to the skills, relationships, and experiences they need to thrive.
The Foundation supports workforce development and education programs that help align classroom learning with industry needs. Through initiatives such as EPIC, the Employer Provided Innovation Challenge, students work in teams to solve real-world business challenges presented by local employers. These experiences strengthen critical thinking, teamwork, communication, innovation, and presentation skills while helping students explore career pathways and connect with local industries.
The Foundation also supports workforce bootcamps that prepare high school students, college students, and adults entering or re-entering the workforce with essential skills for career success. Topics may include resume writing, interview preparation, communication, teamwork, financial literacy, and professional etiquette. Led by local business professionals and Chamber members, these sessions provide practical guidance that builds confidence and employability.
Mentorships and internships are another important part of the Foundation’s impact. The Foundation connects students and young professionals with Metrocrest-area business leaders for guided mentorship, career exploration, resume and interview coaching, networking support, job-shadowing, and experiential learning. The developing Metrocrest Internship Network will expand this work by creating a structured, employer-led system that connects prepared students with meaningful workplace experiences. This initiative is designed to strengthen the regional talent pipeline while helping employers engage early with emerging talent.
Leadership development is central to the Foundation’s purpose. Leadership Metrocrest is the region’s premier civic and professional leadership experience, helping participants better understand the communities they serve while building leadership, communication, and strategic-thinking skills. Participants explore key regional sectors such as education, government, health care, and public safety, and work together on community-impact projects. Foundation support helps make leadership development more accessible to individuals from nonprofits, small businesses, and underrepresented groups.
The Foundation also invests in civic education through the National Civics Bee, a program that inspires middle school students to learn about government, civic responsibility, active citizenship, and community involvement. Students submit essays proposing ideas to strengthen their communities and may compete in a live local bee event, with winners advancing to the State Civics Bee. This program builds leadership, public-speaking, critical-thinking, and civic engagement skills for the next generation.
Scholarships are an important part of the Foundation’s commitment to education. The Metrocrest Chamber Foundation Scholarship Program supports local high school seniors pursuing degrees in business, finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, or related fields. These scholarships recognize students who demonstrate leadership, academic excellence, and community involvement, and they help invest in the next generation of Metrocrest business and community leaders.
The Foundation also supports small business development workshops that help entrepreneurs and small business owners strengthen their operations and growth potential. Through practical training in areas such as business planning, finance, marketing, digital strategy, HR compliance, and operations, these workshops contribute to job creation, business success, and long-term economic vitality.
