LEARNING TO FOCUS ON A NEW MISSION
Our nation's warriors - from every field of battle - possess a sense of strength, of excellence, and of commitment that we seldom see here at home. However, far too many of them are struggling to transition their abilities towards a new mission - leading themselves, their families, and their communities off the field. MVP was designed to address this challenge, and ensure that all of our nation's warriors can be as productive off the field as they were on it.
By merging vets and players, we create an environment where these warriors can share each other's strength and experience, and can support each other in building fulfilling lives of service and strength. Your support will enable us to continue building our program, and unlocking the potential of these great individuals.
Merging Vets and Players (MVP) was founded in 2015 by Jay Glazer and Nate Boyer to address the similar challenges that veterans and professional athletes face when the uniform comes off. In creating a new team, MVP works to help them find new purpose, meaning, and identity as they face the challenges head-on together rather than alone. By staying connected beyond the weekly peer support sessions through various events, communication, and trusted resources, members experience an ecosystem of support. MVP empowers military, veterans, and professional athletes to thrive when the uniform comes off through fitness, health, and wellness programs.
Thank you for your commitment to our mission at Merging Vets and Players (MVP). Your donation is essential to our members and communities across the country and our socially impactful cause!
We work tirelessly to bridge the gap for mental health and wellness training and education for our underrepresented and diverse membership! We serve them by providing an opportunity to “get off the couch”, find a new team who values their service, and offer avenues of engagement through new teammates and local communities.
We serve veterans who heroically deployed for our great nation, and professional athletes who committed the prime years of their lives to provide community building entertainment to us all. Both of these groups lived lives of uncertainty, high stress, and life-altering injuries, many of which are unseen to the public. Our members statistically have a higher incident of PTS (Post Traumatic Syndrome), TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy), and suicide ideation.
Your donation provides impactful resources to facilitate the healing of our combat veterans and athletes alike and expand our reach to assist our veterans and players to live more enriched lives – in their careers, their social structure and most importantly, giving them an opportunity to prosper after the uniform comes off and show them, they are never alone!
Once again, you have our deepest gratitude for your support!
Merging Vets & Players (MVP) is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and welcoming environment for all veterans, athletes, and community members we serve. We believe that diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives is a source of strength that drives connection, resilience, and purpose.
We actively work to ensure that our programs, partnerships, and leadership reflect the communities we serve, embracing individuals of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, and life experiences. We are dedicated to breaking down barriers that prevent access to support, resources, and opportunities, and we hold ourselves accountable for promoting fairness, respect, and belonging in every space where MVP operates.
Equity at MVP means creating pathways for all members to thrive—whether in the uniform, on the field, or in civilian life. We will continue to listen, learn, and lead in ways that honor the service, talents, and humanity of every person who joins our mission.
