For more than 50 years, the Community Food Pantry of McKinney has stood beside our neighbors during times of need. What began as a simple mission to help feed our community has grown into McKinney’s largest choice food pantry, serving more than 10,000 individuals every month.
And right now, the need is greater than ever.
Families, children, seniors, veterans, and individuals from across our community walk through our doors each week—many seeking help for the very first time. Rising grocery prices and the increasing cost of everyday necessities have made it harder for families to make ends meet.
At the Community Food Pantry of McKinney, we believe receiving help should never mean giving up your dignity.
Our choice-pantry model allows our neighbors to shop for groceries much like they would at a traditional grocery store, selecting the foods that best meet their families’ needs. This not only provides dignity and choice, but also helps reduce food waste.
Keeping our pantry stocked is truly a community effort. Seven days a week, our team rescues food from local grocery partners throughout the area. Combined with food received through the North Texas Food Bank and the generosity of our community, approximately 30,000 pounds of food comes through our pantry each week.
None of this would be possible without our incredible volunteers. More than 50 volunteers may serve alongside us in a single day—stocking shelves, unloading trucks, assisting neighbors, sorting donations, rescuing food, and helping keep one of McKinney’s busiest food pantries moving.
But the need continues to grow.
This North Texas Giving Day, your gift helps us keep our shelves stocked, our refrigerators and freezers running, our trucks on the road, and nutritious food available for thousands of neighbors who depend on us each month.
Whether you give $10, $25, $50, $100 or more, every gift matters.
Your donation isn't simply helping us provide groceries.
You're helping a neighbor feed their family.
For more than 50 years, McKinney has taken care of McKinney—and with your help, we will continue doing exactly that.
Neighbors helping neighbors. Fighting hunger. Feeding hope.
