Every day, the McKinney Public Library enriches the lives of thousands by offering access to knowledge, resources, and a sense of belonging. The McKinney Public Library Foundation loves to help support this vital need. This North Texas Giving Day, we’re asking for your help to reach our goal of raising $5,000 to directly support the programs that make our library system a vibrant hub for learning, creativity, and community connection and to recognize the teen volunteers who give their time to our library.
Why We Need You
In 2024, we saw the incredible impact of library initiatives, from literary workshops for kids to author events that foster a love for reading. But there’s so much more we can do with your support. Your donation will directly fund:
McKinney Literary Fest 2026 – A celebration of books, authors, and the joy of reading.
Early Literacy Programs – Helping children build strong reading foundations.
Workshops & Classes – Offering lifelong learning opportunities for adults and teens.

We are a volunteer-driven organization, and we work tirelessly to ensure that the library remains an indispensable resource for the McKinney community.

Our mission is to generate continued enthusiasm for our library system and to secure funding for enhancements that will enrich the variety and depth of library programs, services, and collections.
Scholarships - $2,000
We are planning to give (at least) two more scholarships to rising high school seniors who volunteer at least 20 hours at McKinney Public Library in Spring 2026.
Enhancing Library Programs - $3,000
The McKinney Public Library has amazing programs that are well attended by their patrons. We want to help expand and enhance these programs, so that even more people can participate. This could mean a longer time that the petting zoo can stay, providing food for authors who participate in the McKinney Literary Fest, or even extra lights to celebrate Diwali. We love to say "Yes!" to the library and help them in any way we can. Your donations help everyone who enjoys McKinney Public Library.
We are committed to the diverse needs of our community, ensuring that everyone benefits from the wealth of resources our libraries offer and that we continue to grow these assets for all McKinney residents and for anyone who visits our great city and libraries.
