Ma'ruf Dallas' programs impact three key vulnerable populations in the DFW Metroplex; the homeless, refugees, and working poor. These clients are usually limited to working in physically demanding jobs at warehouses and restaurants. The jobs typically offer limited chances for career growth and have low wages. Ma'ruf Dallas aims to put an end to this cycle of poverty by enrolling our refugee clients in the Training for the Future program. Our unique program offers full scholarships to our refugee clients, allowing them to attend various trade schools. Through our case managers work with each family receives a personalized guidance to put them on a path of self-sufficiency.

Our Job Placement Program works to place families in meaningful jobs that provide a living wage; none of our corporate partners offer minimum wage, but rather a living wage to ensure the cycle of poverty can be broken. However, through out program, clients have been able to earn a higher income than job placement. For example, the average salary for an electrician in Texas is $50,848 a year* and for a Certified Pharmacy Technician is $48,300 per year*! (*according to salary.com) Our Training for the Future program allows our clients to achieve higher earnings and a better life for their families after escaping oppression, conflict & poverty!

Hemrish, a single mother of two, completed the program and went onto become a phlebotomist working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

There have been 77 Graduates through our program! With many more on the waiting list, our goal this North Texas Giving Day, is to gift another family security through career education.

Our Needs

A key need is the ability to provide financial assistance to families to help pay rent, utilities and other bills while they are on their path to self-sufficiency. The financial support received will ensure that more families can have the financial burdens that come with poverty lifted so they can focus on reaching self-sufficiency.
