$300,000 Goal

Make-A-Wish North Texas creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Right now, 1,150 children across North Texas are waiting for a life-changing wish. Some have been waiting as long as two years.

Research shows that a wish can be a powerful part of a child’s medical journey, bringing hope, strength, and joy when they need it most. But for too many children facing critical illnesses, that hope is still on hold.

This North Texas Giving Day, you can help us end the wait.

Our goal is eliminate the waitlist, bringing us closer to a future where every eligible child receives their wish when it can have the greatest impact: during their treatment journey.

And this year, your generosity can go twice as far. Thanks to a generous $150,000 matching gift from the Donovitz Family Foundation, every dollar donated will be matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling your impact for children and families across North Texas.

Every gift helps move a child from waiting to wishing. And the impact reaches far beyond a single unforgettable experience.

Research shows that:

  • Wish kids are 2.5x less likely to have unplanned hospital visits
  • Wishes can help families save $20,000+ in medical expenses
  • 97% of families observe an increase in their wish child’s emotional health

Since 1982, Make-A-Wish North Texas has granted more than 13,000 life-changing wishes across 161 counties. We have the experience, relationships, and infrastructure to reach the children who are still waiting. Now, we need the support to make their wishes possible.

No child should have to wait for the hope of a wish. This North Texas Giving Day, your gift can help end the wait.

Mission

A wish experience can be a game-changer for a child with a critical illness.

This one belief guides us in everything we do at Make-A-Wish. It inspires us to grant life-changing wishes for children going through so much. It compels us to be creative in exceeding the expectations of every wish kid. It drives us to make our donated resources go as far as possible. Most of all, it's the founding principle of our vision to grant the wish of every eligible child.

This is our mission:

Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Wishes are not just “nice to have”—they are life-changing.

They’re more than gifts or single moments in time. Wishes create a ripple effect that touches everyone involved: wish kids, families, volunteers, donors, sponsors, medical teams, and entire communities. For a wish child, the journey toward their wish can spark the courage to continue treatments. Parents may feel hope and optimism return. Volunteers and supporters often discover the incredible impact they can have through giving their time, resources, or talents. A wish doesn’t just change one life—it can inspire countless others.
