Who We Are
Magnolia Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in North Texas, committed to saving the lives of dogs in need across the state. As a foster-based rescue, we do not operate a physical facility—instead, we rely on a dedicated network of volunteers who open their homes to provide temporary care, love, and stability while we prepare each dog for adoption.
Our Beginning
Magnolia Animal Rescue was founded by Alysha Pyatt, whose journey into animal rescue started when she fostered several vulnerable puppies from a high-kill shelter. It took two years of careful thought and growing passion before Alysha decided to fully commit to creating Magnolia Animal Rescue. Witnessing firsthand how care, compassion, and a safe environment could transform these dogs inspired her to expand her efforts into a full rescue organization. Shortly after rescuing those puppies, Alysha found Magnolia—a dog who had been struggling to survive—and placed her with a dedicated foster mom. Little did that foster mom know, she would end up adopting Maggie and becoming a main volunteer and a backbone to our rescue.
Today, Magnolia Animal Rescue is much more than one person’s passion—it’s a community. A dedicated team of volunteers, fosters, and advocates share Alysha’s commitment and work tirelessly alongside her. Together, they open their homes and hearts, ensuring that every dog receives medical treatment, behavioral support, and the chance to find a forever family. The team’s collective efforts have made Magnolia Animal Rescue a pillar of hope for dogs across Texas, proving that when a community comes together, lives can be changed—one dog at a time.
What We Do
We take in dogs from shelters, abandonment cases, and urgent situations where they may not have another chance. Each dog receives veterinary care, behavioral support, and individualized attention to help them heal and thrive. Our goal is to place every dog in a safe, loving, and permanent home.
Beyond Rescue
At Magnolia Animal Rescue, we understand that saving lives means addressing more than immediate needs. We are actively involved in promoting long-term solutions through education, outreach, and advocacy. By supporting spay/neuter access and encouraging responsible pet ownership, we work to reduce pet overpopulation and build more compassionate communities.
How you can help
Our rescue efforts are made possible by volunteers, donors, and foster families who believe every dog deserves a second chance. We are always in need of more foster homes to expand our ability to take in dogs when they need us most. By opening your home to a foster dog—even temporarily—you play a direct role in saving a life. With your support, we’re building a future where every dog has the opportunity to be healthy, safe, and loved.
Our Goals
Recruit more foster homes to increase our capacity to take in dogs in need
Create a spay/neuter sponsorship program to help reduce pet overpopulation in our communities
Rescue more dogs from shelters, neglectful situations, and urgent medical cases
Secure more funding for critical medical care, including surgeries, emergency treatment, and long-term rehabilitation
Provide more education on responsible pet ownership to empower communities and reduce pet abandonment and neglect
At Magnolia Animal Rescue, our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome dogs in need, while working to address the root cause of pet overpopulation through education, outreach, and advocacy for spay/neuter services and accessible veterinary care.
