Supporting independence for the elderly is at the heart of Metroport Meals On Wheels' mission. We believe that isolation is caustic, undermining to the quality of life and detrimental to physical health. We strive to meet needs and enrich lives, to provide simple, joyful things for our participants to anticipate, to provide tangible expressions of care and concern, and to create more opportunities for personal interaction. For 43 years, MMOW has met the increasing need for meals and support that are essential to our seniors' health and well-being.

Our Needs

Food Pantry Staples called "Staples for Seniors" for monthly deliveries

Our "Staples for Seniors" program delivers special bags of food to seniors’ doors every month. These shelf-stable breakfast and dinner meals supplement the hot, home-delivered meals and ensure that something good to eat is always readily available. This program gives a major boost to seniors’ budgets, freeing up money that would normally be spent on groceries to provide for medication, transportation, utilities, and other essentials.
