$15,000 Goal

The Lupus Foundation of America, Lone Star Chapter has a constituency base of 24,000, including lupus patients, their families, caregivers, and physicians.

Last year we responded to more than 1,500 inquiries for assistance. Welcome packets, physician referrals, lupus facts and available programs and services lists were sent to lupus patients and/or their family members.

We educated more than 2,500 individuals through 25 educational programs, including lupus education to under-served populations, annual lupus conference, and teleconference series. The Chapter also provided workshops, webinars, and made presentations to groups about lupus. These programs are designed to educate lupus patients, family members and caregivers. The programs are conducted by physicians, trained volunteers, and chapter health educators.

We provided electronic newsletter, "Lupus News," issued monthly and distributed to 19,500 constituents with up-to-date information and news about lupus.

We held monthly lupus support groups throughout the chapter area, serving 650 individuals. Support groups are conducted by certified volunteers and chapter health educators.

We conducted public education at community and corporate health fairs.

We conducted social media outreach with regular postings, including Facebook 6,000 followers, Twitter 1,550 followers, and 250 Instagram postings.
