Helping North Texas youth aging out of foster care and former foster youth transition to adulthood by providing community based support and person centered plans for success and more fulfilled lives.
Things we know:
*Every year in Texas, more than 1,200 young adults age out of the foster care system without being adopted.
*20% of the children who age out will become instantly homeless.
*1 in 4 will be incarcerated within a year.
*7 out of 10 girls who age out will become pregnant before turning 21
*There is less than a 3% likelihood for children who have aged out of care to earn a college degree at any point in their life
Texas children and adults who have aged out deserve better and together we can make a difference.
We are raising 25k to expand our services to more youth in Collin, Hunt, Grayson, Rockwall and NE Dallas Counties by providing emergency support services and meeting the immediate needs of youth in transition and by facilitating a network of support that leads to better outcomes.
