Needs
At the Little Elm Area Food Bank (LEAFB), our mission to fight hunger and serve our community is powered by the generosity of volunteers like you. Each month, over 50 dedicated volunteers give their time to help provide food and support to families in need. Whether it’s greeting neighbors, organizing donations, or preparing food boxes, the work we do wouldn’t be possible without the commitment of our volunteers.
In the past year, volunteers contributed 5 thousand hours of service, saving the food bank 18 thousand dollars in funds that go directly toward serving our community. Your time can make a big difference, and we’re always looking for more helping hands. Whether you’re an individual or part of a group, there are a variety of volunteer opportunities to match your skills and interests.
The Little Elm Area Food Bank invites individuals, businesses, community organizations, churches, social, and homeowner groups to host a food drive to collect items we distribute to our neighbors.
Because of the support we receive through food drives:
The food bank shelves will have a continuous supply with which to operate.
Money is freed up to purchase harder to receive or more expensive items.
You are helping to ease the burden of difficult times for your neighbor.
One of the simplest ways to contribute is through financial donations. Every gift, no matter how small, makes a difference and allows us to better support our community. These funds enable us to acquire essential items, repair or replace necessary tools, and maintain our facility, ensuring that the food we provide is stored safely.
