Light Up To Live Foundation's mission is to improve the health of active-duty and military veterans living with post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, pain, and depression. Our biggest program consists of providing polychromatic light therapy systems to veterans for personal use in their home. This type of treatment has been proven to ease pain and depression and is often difficult for veterans to obtain and expensive for them to use. We fund these light therapy systems through generous donors and fundraising events and gift them to our nation's heroes. In addition to this program, Light Up To Live Foundation also partners with other veteran organizations that are helping to enhance the lives of veterans, through providing trained service dogs and by providing access to additional types of healing.
Light Up To Live Foundation is the only organization in Texas and 48 states that gives polychromatic light therapy systems to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and Veterans living with post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, pain, and depression. It also funds highly-trained service dogs for veterans with adaptive needs. The Foundation is dedicated to connecting military members and their families to other organizations aligned with its mission of lighting a path to better health. Light Up to Live Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity based in Dallas and founded by Randall and Sherry Reed, owners of the World Class Automotive Group.
Raising funds to support the cost of highly-trained service dogs trained specifically for use by Veterans living with post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, pain, depression, and physical injuries to enhance their daily adaptive living needs. The cost to train a dog, which typically includes two years of service-dog training, canine food, and veterinary care, is $35,000.
FUNDS RAISED DIRECTLY SUPPORT:
• Funding of Service Dogs trained specifically for use by Veterans living with post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, pain, depression, and physical injuries to enhance their daily adaptive living needs - including 18 months of training and five years of canine food and veterinary care.
• Polychromatic LED Light Therapy Systems are donated for personal use by Veterans who can use the systems at home or away from their physical therapy center.
• Polychromatic LED Light Therapy Systems are purchased and donated to other charities that provide physical and emotional therapy to Veterans learning adaptive skills.
