10.8% of Texas children under 6 were uninsured in 2024, up from 7.9% in 2022. The national rate is 5.3%.

WHAT WE DO ABOUT IT & HOW YOU CAN HELP
LifeSavers Foundation is a faith-based ministry in North Texas. We started in 2001 as a handful of women helping single mothers through unplanned pregnancy. Today, we also help uninsured children get the medical services they need.
The Doctor Spot is a free pediatric clinic in southeast Dallas for North Texas children ages 0 to 18 who have no health insurance or are underinsured. We provide well checks and sick visits, immunizations, sports physicals, asthma and diabetes management, vision, hearing, lead, and obesity screenings, lab work, X-rays, prescriptions, and help enrolling in Medicaid for families who qualify. Our staff is bilingual, and vaccines come free of charge through the Texas Vaccines for Children Program.

Families drive from across North Texas because a free clinic they can actually reach is rare. We see thousands of children each year and 95 percent have no health insurance at all.
