$25,000 Goal

Approved as a 501(c)(3) corporation in August 2002, Let's Elevate, Inc. has served the Richardson community and Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex through educational and economic empowerment initiatives to equip our current and future generations.  These initiatives include:

  1. STEM Programs including STEM Camps through Let's Elevate's PRO Champions NSBE Jr. chapter for 4th, 5th and 6th graders, all of whom are African-Americans and other minorities; and STEM Conference for 150 youth, children, and parents/caregivers. (Keynote speakers were regired Corporate VP for Northrop Grumman Corporation (highest ranking African-American at Northrop during his employment) and the National STEM Chair of The Links, Incorporated/Full-Term Member of MIT Corporation (Board of Massachusetts Institute of Technology).
  2. Over $125,000 in scholarships awareded to over 200 young adults (and some older adults!) in college, graduate, and trade schools, nearly all of whoom are African-Americans or other people of color, most of whom are from low-to-moderate income backgrounds.
  3. Summer reading programs in our local community.

Mission

Encouraging children and youth to discern, develop and display their God-given aspirations and abilities for the economic benefit of themselves, their families, and their community.

Needs

Funds to support the continuation and expansion of our NSBE Jr. STEM Camps including additional students (current maximum of 25), additional grades (current grades 5-7), and additional STEM faciliators from 3;

Funds to support our scholarship fund to those desiring college, graduate, or trade school education.

Equity Statement

Let's Elevate, Inc. is committed to the work of eliminating systemic and social barriers that hinder children, youth and adults from reaching their full potential as designed by God. Our misson - to help children and youth discern, develop, and display their God-given attributes and abilities for the economic benefit of themselves, their families, and their communities - does not simplistically believe that they can do this on their own. Thus, our task lies in equipping at early ages - such as our STEM programs for 4th - 6th graders and reading programs for all ages; and, financial support at later ages through our scholarships toward colleges, graduate schools, and trade schools. Although all are welcome, our focus on African-Americans, other minorities, and/or those living in low-to-moderate income communities is intentional.

It has often been said that if you give a person a fish, they can eat for a day, but if you teach a person to fish, they can eat for a lifetime. We would take it one step further: We want our community to be able to own the fishing ponds that they may produce for a lifetime - for the uplift of us all.
