Latitude 2025 Fundraiser
$2,150 Raised
Latitude GLC (Global Leadership Community), is a global non-profit ministry based in Rockwall, Texas. Latitude GLC was founded in 2015 and currently partners with churches in the United States and South Africa to raise up the next generation of spiritual leaders.
Latitude focuses on young adults who desire to be spiritual leaders in all domains of society. What sets us apart is our commitment to provide mentor-based discipleship and holistic leadership development in the context of a shared spiritual journey. We partner with local churches and non-profit organizations to help them raise up spiritual leaders in their own spheres of influence.
Psalm 45:17 declares, “I will perpetuate your memory through all generations; therefore the nations will praise you forever and ever.” By faith we want to nurture a global movement, a spiritual awakening, a transformational community of young adults who feel called to perpetuate God’s memory to their own generation.
The Latitude IDEA is really an expression of the Great Commission. Latitude seeks to Inspire, Disciple, Encourage and Activate the next generation of spiritual leaders to advance the gospel and strengthen the global church.
Through mentor-based discipleship, leadership resources, and church-based internships, Latitude’s mission is to help our global partners shape a new generation of leaders who will make a lasting spiritual impact in all domains of society.
LATITUDE VILLAGE
In August 2025, Latitude will reach its tenth anniversary. To celebrate this milestone, we are taking a step of faith to construct a permanent facility at Norwegian Settlers Church to house our interns in the future. Intern housing is an essential element of a successful Latitude “live-in” Internship program, and it is also one of the most significant recurring costs.
Vision
We envision the construction of a permanent residence for the interns of the Latitude Global Leadership Academy in Port Shepstone, South Africa in 2025/26. We see the Latitude Village being a place where each class of interns live in community and shares life together throughout the duration of their internship. We envision this village as a shared endeavor with our partner, Norwegian Settlers Church, to provide permanent housing and ministry sustainability for the Latitude Leadership Academy.
Why do we need the Latitude Village?
Currently, the Latitude Leadership Academy pays rent for intern accommodations, which represents a significant expense for the program. The one-time cost of constructing permanent intern accommodations will significantly lower operating costs, create future sustainability, and facilitate greater community among the interns.
We want to build separate living quarters for men and women to house 18-20 interns with amenities like laundry facilities, a large kitchen, an indoor/outdoor dining area, and a great room for gathering.
The pillars of the Latitude leadership development philosophy are our commitment to being anchored in the local church, our focus on being an immersive and transformational experience for each intern, and our intentionality of creating a global community of spiritual leaders. The program reaches its fullest potential when the interns are able to live together, learn together, and serve together in a safe environment and in close proximity to community life and vital ministries of the local church.
The Solution
The construction of the Latitude Village will be a cooperative effort between Norwegian Settlers Church and Latitude GLC. Norwegian Settlers has graciously agreed to donate a plot of land on the current church property, and Latitude has agreed to raise the funds for construction costs. Mutual partners and friends will be invited to participate in this endeavor.
ANNUAL LEADERSHIP RETREAT
Each year we send a team to South Africa to recognize the hard work and accomplishments of our Latitude Interns. Our 2025 trip will happen November 13-25th.
Our annual tradition is to provide a leadership retreat at a game reserve with the combined interns from our church partners to create a memorable learning and bonding experience as our interns graduate and move into the next phase of their leadership journey.
Your donations can help make this incredible experience possible for our Latitude interns from Norwegian Settlers Church in Port Shepstone and Home Ground Church in Westville.
Grace-filled leadership will shape a dynamic, servant leadership culture in your spheres of influence through meaningful relationships and safe environments.
Latitude urges spiritual leaders to create and nurture grace-filled cultures in their organizations. Most leaders want this type of environment, but may not know how or where to begin. Jesus masterfully sculptured a grace-filled culture among his disciples that created the mold for the community of faith.
We teach five grace-filled leadership habits based on biblical models that help leaders create an environment where team members want to establish deep roots and develop relationships that are safe, mutually edifying and healthy. We want to help your work culture become a spacious place where creativity and innovation thrive, where people feel loved, nurtured and valued. Our desire is that they see themselves as stakeholders in the culture of your organization, not merely consumers of it. Is that how you see them?
Here is the first grace-filled leadership habit that we see demonstrated in the ultimate leader, Jesus Christ. John declared in his gospel, “We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:4)
