Lakewood LEAPS is a community-driven capital campaign reimagining Lakewood Elementary's playground and sports field as an inclusive, inspiring space where every child can play, connect, and belong.
Lakewood’s playground and field are more than school spaces — they’re places where children play, friendships grow, and families come together. But the current playground no longer meets the needs of the community they serve. LEAPS is creating a safer, more accessible, and engaging environment designed to serve Lakewood children and the greater community for years to come.

Give every child at Lakewood Elementary—and every family in our community—a safe, inclusive, and inspiring place to play.
Needs
The total cost of this project is $2 million, inclusive of the completed phase one sports field and accessible walkway. Accessible, safe playgrounds are an investment. Here are some of the cost of the playground plan.
$3,000: Rubber loop benches
$4,000: Sound Sambas - sensory drums
$6,000: 2 flower petal sensory drums
$10,000: A spinning equipment for 2-3 students to use at one time
$20,000: Shade repair for existing structure with damage
$20,000: Each bay of new swings - in need of 6
$35,000: A four post shade structure
$40,000: We Go Round wheelchair accessible whirl
$65,000: Refilling the engineered wood fiber surfacing
$75,000: Three bay ZipKrooze with assisted bay
$80,000: Topographical connected play area with built in shade structures
$140,000: Volo Play Structure
$150,000: Site demolition, grading, irrigation, and haul away
$300,000: 10,000 sq. feet of poured in place rubber surfacing for safe and accessible access to play equipment.
