Kids Matter has been working every day to improve the quality of life of children living at or below poverty level since our inception as a non-profit organization in 2006.
Through our work to enhance the lives of these children and their families, we still witness an overwhelming number of disadvantaged children who are in need of basic necessities like clothing, food, school supplies, and educational programs.

Around The Block (ATB), is our largest program where our leadership teams, volunteers, and donors interact together with the children we serve.
In November 2025, over 1,100 children shopped for new clothing at Kohl's Department Stores. For a majority of these children, it was the first time they received new clothes versus hand-me-downs.
For every $100 raised, your donation will go toward the purchase of new and warm clothing for a child in need. Through our tax exempt status, Kohl's Department Stores discounts, and our partnership with Twisted X Global Brands, each child typically leaves with $325-400 worth of brand new merchandise. Twisted X Global Brands provides brand new shoes to each child and Kids Matter provides them with a new book of their choosing. Over 350 volunteers participated in the events in 2025. This program addresses the very basic need among low-income children while improving their self-esteem. These events are held in November to enable children to shop for winter clothing.
Our goal is to help 2,000 children receive brand new winter clothing next November by raising $200,000.
