K9 Detection Service is a volunteer-led, 501(c)(3) nonprofit Search & Rescue team dedicated to assisting government agencies in finding and recovering missing persons across Texas and a 5-state radius.
K9 Detection Service was founded by CEO, Pat Thorpe, a dedicated K9 handler with over two decades of experience, serving victims of crime and disaster. After the tragic loss and recovery of his daughter more than 20 years ago, he dedicated his life to helping others find closure. What began as a personal mission has grown into a certified Search and Rescue organization that now assists law enforcement and professional teams across multiple states.
K9 Detection Service specializes in Human Remains Detection (HRD), Water Recovery, and Cold Case Searches. Our mission extends beyond recovery— we aim to bring clarity and closure to families who are waiting for answers.
Every mission requires dedication, training and travel — and every dollar helps us reach one more family in need. Your support allows us to deploy trained teams, maintain our K9s, and provide critical equipment for search operations.
