Welcome to Joyful Ranch Counseling, a place of hope and transformation for those who have endured the weight of childhood trauma. At Joyful Ranch Counseling, we understand the unique challenges and deep scars that can result from early life experiences.
Joyful Ranch Counseling was opened in 2023 by Jackie Carlino, LPC 92573, a liscnesed counselor trained in several trauma techniques and animal/equine-assisted activities. Jackie is a survivor of trafficking and has done over 10 years in her healing journey to find a place of peace where she can help others break free from trauma in their lives.
That’s why we’re passionate about using rescued horses to help rescue people from past trauma!

- Expanding to open a home for teens who have been trafficked
The first step towards expansion is having more space for the rescued horses and the teen home. This requires us to purchase more land!

Childhood trauma can cast a long shadow, affecting every aspect of our lives. But it doesn't have to define our future.
At our sanctuary, healing begins where compassion meets courage. We rescue horses from neglect and give them a second chance, then pair them with teens and young adults who need a second chance at finding hope and healing.
Our equine-assisted counseling programs support individuals struggling with anxiety, trauma, and emotional distress. These horses—once broken or abandoned—become trusted partners in healing, offering comfort, connection, and a path forward.
For a teen battling anxiety, a rescued horse can become a lifeline. For a young adult healing from trauma, the quiet strength of a horse can offer hope where words fall short.
But we can’t do it alone.

Helping Rescue Horses to Help People!
I believe that everyone has the potential to live a fulfilling and meaningful life. By identifying and working through their trauma, clients can learn to create a life they love. A life with joy, happiness, and love. "All things are possible with God" (Matthew 29:26)
Joyful Ranch Counseling is a non-profit organization that works to rescue animals that help people heal! We use rescued horses, ducks, mini pigs, and dogs, to help each client have affordable mental health care. We understand that life is expensive, but your mental health should not suffer because of finances. So we offer a discounted rate for people who make less than 50k a year. We strive to help our community by offering low cost counseling and education. We use tools like equine assisted activities, eft, and more to help people work through the trauma and feel joy.
