The Indigenous Institute of the Americas (IIA) is a 501 (C) 3 nonprofit organization located in Plano, Texas. Our all-volunteer Council, Advisors, Elders, Youth, and International Ambassadors are Indigenous people representing the Americas or people who have a deep conviction to help learn and preserve our history and life ways for future generations.

Our Council is dedicated to developing and providing accurate information about the diversity and similarities of our tribal cultures.

IIA is recognized for its family interactive learning events and programs:

  1. Seed Ambassador program
  2. Indigenous Grocery Store (Neh Sha Market),
  3. Mobile Educational Community (MEC) training (MEC training)
  4. Mobile Educational Displays (MED)
  5. Cultural skill workshops 
  6. Indigenous Institute of the Americans Celebration: Honoring Indigenous Cultures, Dance and Art

Mission

OUR PURPOSE – To promote and share the similarities and differences comprising the traditional cultures of indigenous people in the Americas prior to and since 1492.

MISSION – To cultivate awareness of the Indigenous people of the Americas.

VISION – A world that understands, values, respects, and celebrates Indigenous culture and perspective of the Americas.ION – To cultivate awareness of the Indigenous people of the Americas.

Needs

The organization is seeking volunteers interested in helping at our events & educational training sessions.

IIA is recognized for its family interactive learning events and programs:
