A look back at 2025…
In 2025 the HSNC operated on a budget of $200,000, with 67% going directly to our spay/neuter program and Ducky’s Pet Food Friday. The HSNC receives no funding from any national, state, or local government, nor do we receive funding from organizations like the ASPCA or HSUS. We rely entirely on grants, donations, fundraisers and community support.

The Humane Society of Navarro County (HSNC) was established in 1972 and received 501 (c)(3) non-profit status in 1987. The Humane Society operates under the direction of a ten member Board of Directors and Executive Committee consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The HSNC is dedicated to the humane and ethical treatment of animals. This mission includes the reduction of animal overpopulation and abandonment within Navarro County through our Spay/Neuter Program and, more recently, providing supplemental pet food to in-need residents of our community.
Our biggest need will always be funds to help continue and expand our low cost spay/neuter program for residents of Navarro County. Our goal is to hit over 1,000 spay/neuter surgeries in 2026, and we can only do that with enough funding and support from people like you.
We also have Ducky's Pet Food Friday that provides free, supplemental dog and cat food to Navarro County residents in need. Every month we distribute over 2,800lbs of pet food. We are always needing pet food and/or funds to help support this important program.
The Humane Society of Navarro County is committed to ensuring that all pet owners, regardless of income or circumstance, have access to essential spay/neuter services. We recognize that financial barriers and limited local resources often prevent families from accessing spay/neuter services and pet food support; compounded by the fact that these same individuals are also frequently burdened with stray animals dumped near or around their homes.
Through our low-cost spay/neuter program and Ducky’s Pet Food Friday distributions, we intentionally serve underserved and rural communities throughout Navarro County. Our programs are designed to be accessible, judgment-free, and responsive to the needs of the community.
We believe that every pet deserves a healthy life and every family deserves the opportunity to keep their pets at home. By removing barriers to care, we are working toward a more equitable and humane community for both people and animals.
