Hope's Rescue and Recovery Angels (HRRA) is a 501c3 Non-Profit domestic animal trapping service, specializing (but not limited) in dogs. The Rescue was born out of Founder & President Kacy Hendricks’ desire to give the voiceless strays a voice and to reunite missing pets with their family.  Advocating for the welfare of domestic animals in need is the core of HRRA’s mission.

After years of freelancing in the trapping world, Hope’s Rescue and Recovery Angels was established in 2022.

Sadly, many states are in crisis with an over-population of pets, many of which are being dumped to survive on their own in unsafe conditions; others living in unfathomable conditions due to environmental or economic circumstances; meanwhile the lack of spay and neuter and breeding regulations contribute to more animals needing help. In addition, family pets are lost and/or stolen and warrant tracking and capturing services.   Further, many local shelters need support to capture elusive animals that they simply do not have the resources or time to handle and routinely contact HRRA for this expertise. Hence, the need for safe and ethical trapping services has dramatically increased, as have caseloads.

HRRA provides mapping of potential sightings, analysis of the area lost, real time surveillance with game and live cameras, and sets strategic feeding stations - culminating with excellent capture outcomes.   Each pet is different, so HRRA works to condition them to get past their fears and formulates a tailored plan to capture them safely and securely.

HRRA strives to help educate the community about dog behavior and how it changes when it goes into "Fight or Flight" mode. How humans react can make all the difference in saving an animal’s life.  HRRA strongly believes that education and communication is key.

Funding is vital. HRRA does not charge for services but accepts donations.  HRRA’s Founder & President is an experienced and sought Independent Trapper and utilizes volunteers to support rescue endeavors.  There are no paid staff, regents, or board members.  Expenses include, but not limited to: trapping equipment, surveillance cameras including cellular and data service; feeding station supplies, transport carriers, veterinary supplies, veterinary care as applicable, fuel, lodging only as required due to case (rare), and other rescue associated expenses.

HRRA services Collin and Dallas counties in Texas. Areas outside of North Texas are considered based on case load.

Needs

The single greatest and immediate need is a reliable vehicle properly suited to carry equipment, supplies, animals, and rescuers. Currently, HRRA utilizes a 13-year-old mini-van with almost 175,000 miles. While this vehicle has saved many animals during its rescue travel, it has endured numerous repairs and its longevity is not certain. Replacement of this vehicle is a short-term goal.
