High Impedance Robotics Alliance

High Impedance Robotics Alliance (HIRA) began in 2024 with a desire to bring the world of robotics to students of any school in the Prosper, Celina, and North Frisco communities.  Beginning with 7 exceptional students, 4 dedicated mentors, generous donors and corporations, the organization supported Year 1 of REBELLION 10014, a FIRST Robotics Competition team in 2024.  This first class of seniors earned admission and scholarships to numerous colleges, settling on engineering majors at Texas Tech and Texas A&M.   Additionally, this student driven team was invited to the Texas State Championships, the World Championships, and recognized as the Top Rookie Team in Texas.  

As the second year unfolded, the team grew to 36 students.  These outstanding students not only excelled at school taking AP, Honors, and Dual Credit courses, but they also found time to reach out.  They facilitated STEM classes for middle school aged children at community libraries, helped local teams in FRC, and talked with businesses and residents at community events and car shows.    Success in the FRC arena was also achieved, once again earning a trip to the Texas State Championships and ultimately the World Championships.  At the conclusion of the season, 12 seniors began their engineering focused college journey, at UC Berkeley, UT Austin, UT Dallas, and Texas A&M.  

Year 3 has gathered 28 robotics students excited to compete in BIOCORE presented by HAAS, a new challenge from FIRST.  In the offseason these hard working students have hosted 2 STEM classes at the Frisco Public Library, survived a 2 week robotics boot camp, and are currently building an offseason robot for 2 upcoming competitions this fall.  

Corporations and foundations have acknowledged the work HIRA is doing.  Year 3 has already gained new supporters including CASI Foundation, GreenData Innovations, and Microsoft.  During the Year 2 campaign, REBELLION was awarded sponsorship from Last Anvil Innovations, NASA, Boeing, PTC, OnlineMetals.com, and the Gene Haas Foundation.  In the beginning, the Year 1 season was powered by NASA, the Gene Haas Foundation, Texas Workforce Commission, Honeywell, friends, and family donors.
