$150,000 Goal

Hero Labradors is a combat-wounded, 100% disabled veteran operated Nonprofit that breeds Labrador Retrievers specifically for service dog traits of Aptitude, Intelligence, Demeanor, Empathy, and Size.  (AIDES)

We raise these puppies to 8-10 weeks, managing their early development and then deliver them all over the country to Service Dog Training Programs.  The programs, in turn, train these pups with a simple agreement:  Once they are fully trained service dogs, they will be donated to a Veteran, First Responder, or Family member--Absolutely free.

Industry wide, a dog entering a service dog training program has less than a 30% chance of successfully completing the program.  Many dogs fail due to unforeseen health problems, behavior issues, or other reasons.  Due to Hero Labrador's focus on Breeding these wonderful dogs specifically for this purpose, we have seen a greater than 96% graduation rate of our dogs.  And this isn't from just one program, this is from over a dozen programs in a dozen states, with over 163 puppies donated and entering programs.

Giving Activity

Mission

Hero Labradors provides purpose-bred Labrador Retriever puppies to service dog training programs for Veterans, Law Enforcement, and their families. These dogs are provided to service dog training programs at no cost. In selected programs, these dogs are trained and made available to disabled veterans, their families, and first responders at no cost.

Needs

Hero Labradors operates on an annual budget of $30-45K

This is comprised of spending on quality food, veterinary care, transportation of the puppies to programs, kennel maintenance, and emergency funds for medical care for our dogs and puppies.

Equity Statement

Hate, bigotry, and discrimination has no home at Hero Labradors. Yellow, Chocolate, and Black are the colors we work with, and they only apply to the coats of our dogs.
