Every young person deserves someone who believes their story is still being written.

At One Heart Project, we work alongside justice-involved and at-risk youth at a critical point in their lives—when the right relationships, opportunities, and support can help change the trajectory of their future.

Our mission is simple but urgent: equip young people with the skills, tools, and healthy relationships they need to navigate life successfully and flourish.

Through evidence-informed programming, mentoring, life-skills development, education, and pathways to employment, One Heart helps young people recognize their potential, build resilience, make healthy choices, and envision a future beyond the circumstances that have defined them.

A Second Chance Can Change Everything

For many of the young people we serve, involvement in the justice system is not the beginning of the story. They may have already experienced instability, trauma, academic challenges, broken relationships, poverty, or a lack of consistent, positive adult support.

Without meaningful intervention, those challenges can create a cycle that is incredibly difficult to escape.

One Heart exists to help interrupt that cycle.

We don't simply tell young people to make better choices. We walk alongside them and help build the skills, relationships, confidence, and opportunities that make better choices possible.

And it is working.

Among the Texas youth we serve, state data shows a recidivism rate of just 12%.

But behind that number are individual lives.

A young person who discovers that their past does not have to determine their future.

A student who begins to believe they can graduate.

A teenager who learns how to manage conflict instead of reacting to it.

A young adult who gains the skills and connections needed to pursue meaningful employment.

A family that begins to see hope where there was once uncertainty.
