Hunt County Pets Alive

A nonprofit organization

Starting thousands of years ago, dogs and cats have been man's best friends. From providing security to enhancing our moods, the importance of these pets in our lives cannot be overstated. However, Hunt County Pets Alive recognizes that there is a steady increase in the number of cats and dogs loitering in the streets. Our areas are overwhelmed with unwanted litters of kittens and puppies.‚Äã

As an animal welfare and rights group, we are determined to ensure humans reciprocate the love they receive from these pets by treating them in a humane way. We take action to create a long-lasting solution through researching and saving.

We implement a series of programs to rescue abandoned dogs and cats. Every dog and cat deserves a safe environment. Through public awareness, we provide information and other resources to help pet owners be responsible. At Hunt County Pets Alive, we believe that this approach is instrumental in changing attitudes towards these pets and enhancing their wellbeing. We work to ensure pet owners have their pets spayed/neutered and vaccinated by promoting mobile vet clinics in the area.

Hunt County Pets Alive was originally formed to assist the other rescues in getting organized, finding resources, and supporting them as needed. We will be returning our focus back to assisting the other rescues.

Our Needs

We have been blessed to have had the funds donated and now have our dog building up and running but still need electricity and water in it. An older RV was purchased to use as a small office which would include space for a washer and dryer as well as a grooming/wash area for the animals. Potential adopters would have a place to get inside out of the weather with room to complete paperwork. The RV is in need of repairs and basic upgrading before it can be used to its potential.

HCPA is always in need of help with dog care, kennel maintenance, and groundskeeping. These are non-paying positions at this time.

Mission

Our mission is to advance the well-being of pets by running programs tailored towards saving abandoned dogs and cats whilst providing resources and information to pet owners and other rescue organizations in the Hunt County area.

Needs

We have been blessed over the years to have had funds donated and build a 12 kennel dog building. This past year, thanks to donations, 10 new outdoor pens were purchased. Our current needs include basic items such as water hoses, stall shavings, small plastic buckets, dog food, cat food, cat litter, etc Funds are always needed for monthly expenses, such as utilities and heartworm prevention.
