What is a classical education?
Picture yourself in a museum gallery that stretches so far that its end disappears from view. In the halls, you'll find an array of paintings, both grand and intimate. Within its classrooms are the most skilled professors and teachers sharing their knowledge with scholars. Each teaching moment is an opportunity to gift scholars with the ability to develop a keen eye and ear for what's true and what's beautiful. Wisdom begins with wonder.....
This museum holds an abundance of objects, ideas, math, science, and literature, beginning with kindergarten and graduating "great-hearted" young men and women with a sense of destiny and purpose directed to the service of the greater good. Our objective is to prepare leaders...and inspire a lifetime of learning.
This is what classical education is like. The ultimate goal of education: to empower individuals to think critically and learn independently.
We are a public charter school.
As a a public school, we educate any child regardless of ability or socio-economic background.
As a charter school, we do not receive local property tax revenue. Consequently, we receive less funding from the state of Texas than other public schools. The gap is substantial. We are dedicated to providing the most exceptional education offered. With your help, we can supplement our funding from the state with financial support from you, our community. No gift is too small, no gift is too large. Join us as we make a difference!

Great Hearts Irving is a public, nonprofit charter school serving K-12. Great Hearts Irving pursues a simple proposition: making available a classical, liberal arts education to all children. An education must teach "Wisdom begins with wonder", giving students the ability to develop a keen eye and ear for what's true and what matters. In order to provide our faculty and students with the resources they need to learn and thrive, we ask for contributions to fill the gap between what we receive as a public school and the actual needs to provide an exemplary education.
These funds will go directly to the following:
- Helps us provide training, recruitment, and competitive salaries to retain our excellent and dedicated faculty.
- Keeps our student-to-teacher ratio smaller for more individualized attention through the support of teacher assistants.
- Supports expenses of programming, supplies, daily operations, and maintenance needs.
- Enable us to provide daily exposure to fine arts.
The mission of Great Hearts Irving is to provide a network of academically rigorous, classical, liberal arts K-12 public charter schools. This exemplary education will prepare its graduates for success in the most highly selective colleges and universities in the nation. Our objective is for our scholars to be leaders in creating a more philosophical, humane, and just society. The ultimate goal of the organization is to graduate "great-hearted" young men and women with a sense of destiny and purpose directed to the service of the greater good.
