The Grace Loncar Foundation (GLF) was established in 2018 after Grace Caroline Loncar, 16, took her own life following a long battle with depression. The Loncar family took their grief and created a legacy of hope through the GLF with a mission to prevent suicide by providing education and resources - including the newly established GLF Care Fund.
Every dollar raised during North Texas Giving Day will support the Care Fund
THE GLF CARE FUND.
The GLF Care Fund was launched in late 2024 to provide financial assistance to North Texas teens, young adults, and survivors of suicide loss who face economic barriers to timely, quality mental healthcare. Even with insurance, care can be out of reach—high deductibles of $3,000 or more can make lifesaving treatment feel impossible. To bridge this gap, we created the GLF Care Fund.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we’ve been able to cover mental healthcare costs for uninsured, underinsured, and high-deductible applicants. Since issuing our first Care Fund check in October 2024, we’ve awarded over $66,000 to ~35 individuals. No other organization in our region provides this kind of urgent, practical financial support.
The GLF Care Fund empowers recipients to choose their own provider and begin care immediately after approval—often within 48 hours of applying.
The Care Fund doesn’t just provide therapy; it restores lives. I fully support GLF’s mission and hope to see this vital work continue to grow. Adsum Counseling, LLC North Texas
Mental Health Programming. In addition to the GLF Care Fund, GLF sponsors community mental health programming, supports caregivers and survivors of suicide loss through support groups and the North Texas LOSS Team, engages teens through our GLF Teen Board program, and provides Mental Health First Aid and mental health awareness training for the community.
