We are a community of disciples of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As Gospel of Life Disciples we are committed to a consistent ethic of life from conception until natural death. We value each and every person. We care in a special way for our elder brothers and sisters, rich in years and experience, and especially deserving of our love and respect. Each person participates in making the house a home and contributes according to one's possibilities.
On more than one occasion, an older adult has come to us on hospice, alone and close to death. They got better and eventually were removed from hospice. We attribute this to the love, attention, nutrition and support that they have received from our GOLD family.
The Gospel of Life Dwellings are personal care homes, sustained solely through charitable contributions, which welcome elders needing a stable home environment. Live-in volunteers ("Lifeguards") assure a ministry of presence in collaboration with local neighborhood volunteers, in a spirit of solidarity, support, and mutual respect.
So we are always in need of neighborhood volunteers! All of our volunteers are called LifeGuards. They dedicate themselves to living the joy of the Gospel through ministry of compassionate presence and humble service. There are many ways to assist us at the Gospel of Life Dwellings in its ministry to older adults.
We are also in need of resources to sustain our ministry. We rely on the generosity of others to support us and our elderly residents.
The mission of the Gospel of Life Disciples+Dwellings is to treasure people who are rich in years and accompany them with life-affirming care free of charge for the glory of God and the salvation of souls. We live together in family homes called Gospel of Life Dwellings (GOLD). We welcome elders who would otherwise be alone and accompany them on the journey toward Eternal Life. We are attentive to their spiritual, emotional and physical needs.
