About

We are committed to a consistent ethic of life from conception until natural death. We care for the needy, elderly, and terminally ill at the end of their life. The Gospel of Life Disciples+Dwellings (GOLD) welcomes the dying, especially those without family, resources, or with difficult life circumstances to live together in love and respect as a gospel family. The GOLD ministry now includes three homes; one each in Texas, Oklahoma, and Guatemala that foster simplicity, solidarity, stewardship, and service to the poor.

Our live-in volunteers are "LifeGuards", who collaborate with local volunteers to dedicate themselves to living the joy of the gospel through a ministry of compassionate presence and humble service. They assure 24/7 care for the residents in our dwellings and spend time as families do - preparing and eating meals, praying, caring for one another, playing games, and simply living together.

Our Needs

The St. Adelaide GOLD dwelling in Grand Prairie, Texas needs General Operating Support (GOS).

This dwelling is not a facility, nor is it a nursing home. It is a personal care home, sustained solely by God's Providence through volunteers and charitable contributions. St. Adelaide offers - at no charge - a comfortable and peaceful environment to vulnerable and often overlooked elderly individuals on their final journey. They are so grateful for a soft bed, a warm shower, and a home-cooked meal - all simple things that most of us take for granted. All donations remain in north Texas and are used for GOS of this home. GOLD is a responsible steward of all donations and every expenditure is for the essential needs of the residents and our stated mission.

Mission

The mission of GOLD is to provide free life-affirming care to fragile, vulnerable, and often isolated individuals in need of a stable home environment while on their final journey toward eternal life.

Equity Statement

There is no requirement, preference, or expectation that LifeGuards, volunteers, or residents be Catholic. However, GOLD does not shy away from its Catholic identity, and pro-life ethos. In fact, the ministry of GOLD is a vital way to protect the dignity of life, promote a consistent ethic of life, and hopefully stem the tide against the culture of death. In particular, the practice of physician-assisted suicide and euthanasia.
