GoldStar Horse Rescue and Sanctuary is a 501c3 non-profit organization located on 70 acres of land in the city limits of Farmersville, Texas. The Sanctuary provides a peaceful country setting for horses and riders alike. The property contains 2 barns which house 31 stalls as well as an outdoor stall area with 10 stalls. Also on site is a chicken coop with large area for the chickens to enjoy the out doors. An equipment barn is located on the east side of the property. There is a lighted outdoor arena, two round pens and a pony training area. The property has exterior fencing with 10 pastures individually fenced. There are areas to accommodate trail riding, grooming of horses, and a wash rack. Lessons are provided for western and English students and there is a classroom in a small separate building.
Mission
GoldStar Horse Rescue and Sanctuary is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and sanctuary for abused, neglected and abandoned horses. The Sanctuary also provides a safe haven for elderly horses to retire in comfort and safety and live out their lives being horses who are loved and cared for.
Needs
We are always in need of basic supplies such as grain, hay and medicines and supplements, as well as funds for farrier and veterinary care. Texas has experienced a severe drought driving up the price of grain and hay. We seeking funding to feed our horses for the winter.
Currently we are fundraising to cover our arena so we can rehab, exercise and train horses and provide education to children and adults as to caring for horses no matter what the weather brings us. In addition we are fundraising for assistance with veterinary care, grain, hay and farrier expense for our 50 horses
