Animal Investigation & Response (AIR)

is a 501(c)(3) animal protection organization that assists communities with large-scale animal abuse, as well as disaster relief for communities affected by natural disasters.

AIR was formed by two certified animal cruelty investigators who saw a need to help connect individuals, law enforcement, and animal control with strategies and resources to investigate and provide aid for situations that exceed the scope of a community's reach.

Your Gift Is Allowing Us To Do More

This year, Animal Investigation & Response hired our first-ever full-time Emergency Services Manager — and the results speak for themselves: we've already doubled our impact. That's twice as many animals pulled from cruelty and neglect, twice as many law enforcement partners supported at no cost and twice as many lives given a second chance. A dedicated team member on the ground, ready 24/7, is the difference between responding to a crisis in hours instead of days.

This North Texas Giving Day, your gift helps us sustain that role — so every case gets the fast, expert response these animals deserve. Give today, and help us keep defending animal dignity at twice the pace.

2026 Response Highlights

  • Winter Cats: Rescued 36 cats from unsanitary, overcrowded conditions alongside Bedford PD — every animal received full medical documentation and care before placement with the Humane Society of North Texas.
  • St. Catrick's Pack: Responded to the largest animal cruelty case in Keene's history — extracting a household of cats plus one deaf, possibly visually impaired dog, all placed with partner shelters after full veterinary care.
  • Bone Jovi Response: Answered an emergency call for dogs, cats, and reptiles suffering severe starvation and neglect — providing critical medical stabilization and a careful, monitored path to recovery.
  • The Muttley Crüe: Stepped in for a rural sheriff's department with no animal shelter or rescue infrastructure, arranging veterinary care and rescue placement for a group of abandoned dogs.
  • April Roo's & Crew: Took in 350+ game birds recovered from an organized cockfighting operation, providing full daily care and covering all medical testing costs — standing by the animals through a difficult outcome because no matter what, animals deserve to experience the best love and care.

Zero cost to agencies. Every response was provided completely free to the requesting law enforcement agency or municipality — removing financial barriers between animals in crisis and the help they need.
