German ISD is excited to be the only German language immersion school in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex providing full-time, weekday German language instruction to children 12 months thru 5th grade. German ISD has grown into a genuine Pre-S/Pre-K and Lower Elementary Institution. The school gives the amazing opportunity to grow up being bilingual! The benefits go beyond the ability to speak in other languages. It gives the students - the next generation - a broader perspective of the world and opens endless possibilities for their futures.
German ISD's Lower Elementary entails academic concepts such as literacy, science, mathematics, movement, artistic, and musical activities, with the goal for all students to develop the essential skills that build the foundation for lifelong learning within positive social and emotional experiences. Lower Elementary classes will facilitate learning using children's natural curiosity, imagination and thinking skills.
The German School provides a learning environment deeply rooted in the central European culture and education system, and it also encourages the development of a global perspective and community building. From day one, students are exposed to German language and culture in a warm and supportive environment. The school focuses on learning through child-directed play experiences and a curriculum based on the "Bayerischer Bildungs- und Erziehungsplan für Kinder in Tageseinrichtungen." The motivated, certified team of educators believe in the balance of play and preschool, which enhances growth and development of its children in all areas: physically, socially, emotionally, creatively and intellectually. Outdoors, children bring their all-weather appropriate clothing and ride balance bikes, play in the sandbox, climb and swing, run around or kick the ball in our beautiful outside play area, our "Spielplatz". German ISD is a place where essential skills are nurtured through play, investigation and of course, fun!
We are planning to renovate and upgrade our playground equipment! We are looking to add shading for the hot summers as well as a new multipurpose playground structure.
