$10,000 Goal

Generation Hope engages education and policy partners to drive systemic change and provides direct support to teen parents in college as well as their children through holistic, two-generation programming.

Dallas County has one of the highest teen birth rates among Texas' largest counties, at approximately 24.6 births per 1,000 females ages 15–19 (2022). Fewer than 2% of teen mothers earn a college degree before age 30, and more than half of all parenting college students leave school without a degree. Generation Hope is committed to changing these statistics one family and one system at a time. Through our Dallas-Fort Worth Scholar program and our family-centered direct service across the area, we help teen parents earn college degrees and secure jobs with family-sustaining wages and help their children prepare for Kindergarten and beyond.

Currently, Generation Hope serves 23 teen parents and their families. With your support, we will be able to expand our program and provide our wraparound supports to serve new families in the area, supporting teen parents as they achieve college degrees, secure family-sustaining careers, and build wealth.

Testimonial

"Generation Hope has provided resources and experiences that support me not only as a student pursuing my degree, or a mother but overall personal development. As a young parent, people don’t realize you're growing up alongside your child. Generation Hope’s events and programming recognizes and invests in that unique experience.”
