We are a 100% volunteer organization, founded to honor Greg Dollgener who died of AIDS in 1994. GDMAF was established in 1996 in his memory. We are a 501 C3 organization and have 2 major events each year - MetroBall (GDMAF's largest fundraiser) and Night of Stars, where we bring together local and national talent for an amazing night of spectacular performances.
We are a last resort - emergency organization and can react the same day if needed. The request must come from one of the 10 AIDS Service Organizations in North Texas that we work with , as we are a one-time emergency assistance organization and we want to ensure clients are linked up with larger organizations that can provide more comprehensive services and long-term assistance.
We run out of our monthly allotment by the 3rd week monthly. Additonal funding would enable us to continue to fulfill requests that come in each month.
The Mission of The Greg Dollgener Memorial AIDS Fund is to enhance the lives of people with HIV/AIDS in the North Texas area by providing Financial Assistance for critical needs when the resources through all other local AIDS organizations are exhausted. We also support Education in the fight against HIV and AIDS. We are known as a "Last Resort" emergency organization.
