$5,000 Goal

The true character of America is measured by her communities and the people who work to improve them. Whether at a national level or right here in North Texas, our Post members dedicate countless hours each year working to ensure that veterans are respected for their service, always receive their earned entitlements, and are recognized for the sacrifices they and their loved ones have made on behalf of this great country.

For four consecutive years (2018-2022), Post 8273 was recognized as an All-American & All-State Post, an honor reserved for those Posts who are the best of the best!

Our Core Values:
- Treat donors as partners in our cause
- Promote patriotism
- Honor military service
- Ensure the care of veterans and their families
- Serve our community
- Promote a positive image of the VFW
- Respect the diversity of veteran opinions

Our Needs

Financial support to continue fighting for veterans, service members and their families. Our programs support our service members while they are on the front line, as they are being discharged and long after they return. The VFW has an impeccable and longstanding record of service and stewardship. Patriotic Americans, both members and non-members, entrust Post 8273 with financial contributions and countless volunteer hours because we; Educate, Provide, Help and Serve.

Mission

VFW Post 8273 provides unique and urgently needed services that improve the lives of veterans, military personnel and their families all the while supporting positive citizen involvement for the betterment of Collin and Denton County Communities. Our varied programs include, but not limited to, financial grants for military families in need to help pay for rent, mortgage, utilities, medical treatment and food; assistance for veterans in the filing of entitlement claims with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; patriotic student essay contests that award scholarships to our youth; and patriotic contests that award exceptional teachers for their commitment to teaching Americanism and patriotism to their students. All of our programs are non-political, free and require no VFW-affiliation for assistance.
