We support Riter C. Hulsey Public Library’s efforts to provide free access to literacy and educational resources for Terrell, Kaufman County, and our neighboring counties. Programs like Summer Reading, Teen Zone, and Lego League provide literacy and STEAM enrichment for children. WINGS adult education and workshops for resume building and computer skills prepare the adults for the job market, while Page Turners’ Crafting Corner and Trivia night give them a place to relax and have fun. We also purchase necessary supplies, technology and equipment for the Maker's Space and other items our library's amazing staff needs.
As our community faces a surge of population growth, demand for library services and programs is increasing and those services have never been more vital to the well-being of our most vulnerable neighbors. And as need grows, the budget shrinks. We need your help to ensure that the library has the funds to meet this demand. Without support, the library might not be able to keep services free to our neighbors outside Terrell; and free access is essential to creating a more equitable world.
The Friends of the Riter C. Hulsey Public Library is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which promotes the interests and welfare of the library as a cultural and educational asset. The Friends group provides an extension of library resources, services, and facilities through advocacy and community building. General members, and those on the board advocate for the library throughout Terrell and the surrounding area helping to raise funds which support, enhance, and expand public library services.
