We bring people closer to nature, continually improve the trail, and make the experience a breath of fresh air for walkers, runners, cyclists, and of course our furry friends.

Friends of the SoPac Trail is a not-for-profit organization made up of friends and neighborhood associations dedicated to initiating and supporting projects that enhance the SoPac Trail.

We're making the trail even better all kinds of ways. Tree plantings. Creating respite areas. Helping our pollinator garden thrive. Seeding wildflower areas. Adding wayfinding signage. Picking up litter. And painting over graffiti.

The SoPac Trail is a great way to get around Dallas. As a critical north-south spine of THE LOOP Dallas, the SoPac connects with the Santa Fe, White Rock Lake, Flag Pole Hill, Ridgewood, White Rock Creek, Northaven, and Cottonwood Creek trails. The trail currently spans 6 miles from White Rock Lake north to Greenville Avenue at Meadow Road.

Ready to roll up your sleeves? Whether you’re up for volunteering to help us achieve our project goals, or funding our efforts to improve the trail, we'd love to have you on Team SoPac. Families, friends, and outdoor enthusiasts interested in making a meaningful impact are all welcome.

Giving Activity

Mission

Friends of the SoPac Trail is a non-profit comprised of friends and neighborhood associations dedicated to initiating and supporting projects that enhance the SoPac Trail.

Needs

We’ve got an ambitious list of projects that will enhance the trail even more. We get things done on a small budget. With your help, we can continue to accomplish a lot, such as:

• Planting more trees to create shade and natural habitat along the trail

• Directional signage

• Pruning, weeding, fertilizing the Pollinator Garden and trees around the Respite Area

• Graffiti restoration

• Litter pick up

• Murals at underpasses

Equity Statement

Our support of the SoPac Trail and collaboration with other trail groups brings equitable access to the Dallas trail system. The SoPac Trail is a vital link to the city geographically. And vital to our health too.

Spending more time in motion. Being closer to nature. Helping people navigate the trail. Supporting our fragile ecosystem. Collaborating with the community. These are all part of our efforts to step up for the greater good. You're invited to join us.
