The Education and Scholarship committees of the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas, Fort Worth Chapter (HWNT-FW) are made up of a dedicated group of volunteers who help LIP students attain the skills to lead and succeed. Members of the Education and Scholarship Committees encourage LIP students through mentorship and provide resources for students' personal, educational and professional pursuits. HWNT-FW creates opportunities for all Latinas in Progress students to become successful members of a global society. 

Our Needs

The WHY? Our purpose of this request is to help support the innovative programming of The Hispanic Women's Network of Texas (HWNT) Fort Worth Chapter's Latinas in Progress(c) Education Program (LIP), which is designed to engage and encourage high-school senior Latinas, explore opportunities in higher education. This is achieved through hands-on learning experiences that provide information on access, financial resources, and exposure to higher education. Proceeds raise d on North Texas Giving Day 2022 will be used for the organization. 


The PURPOSE behind the organization:

Participants 2021-2022: 80 

LIP Scholarships Recipients: 78* Senior students

Awarded scholarships to the class of 2022: over $350, 000

Participating Tarrant County High Schools: 31

Mentors': 50 volunteers  

*not all LIP participants completed the program for class of 2022

Mission

We are a state-wide organization made up of women and men from diverse backgrounds, each of us committed to promoting the participation of Hispanic women in public, corporate and civic arenas. HWNT seeks to advance the educational, cultural, social, legal and economic well-being of all women through a broader awareness of their role in society, business, seminars and family. Members strive to celebrate the positive image and values of the Hispanic culture. The Hispanic Women's Network of Texas, Fort Worth Chapter (HWNT-FW) aims to mentor senior high school Latinas throughout their senior year to equip them with the means to succeed in their personal and professional lives through the Latinas in Progress™ (LIP) Education Series.
