The Forney Arts Council is a young, vibrant non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating opportunities for local artists, while increasing the awareness of the arts in the community. We offer free and low-cost arts programming like art shows, classes, live music, artisan markets and children's crafts to the public. We are young and old; artists and admirers; new and long-time residents of Forney and surrounding areas.
The Forney area has a vibrant and inclusive environment, conducive to learning, appreciating, and experiencing the cultural arts. Our primary goal is to promote local artists by giving them a venue to connect with the public through excellence in both education and performance. We encourage community outreach and diversity. Our organization has committed to accomplishing the following goals:
ADVOCATE ARTS AWARENESS
Advocate awareness through activities, events, and promotion of the arts.
REPRESENT DIVERISTY
Represent the diversity of our community through public art and performance.
TEACH ARTS FUNDAMENTALS
Teach fundamentals of cultural art disciplines and provide facilities for creative expression.
SUSTAIN ARTS GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT
Sustain the growth and development of The Forney Arts Council through ongoing financial support.
We are grateful for the way the Forney community has embraced our new facility, The Forney Arts House. As a new enterprise, we depend on community support to help fund the space where we host art exhibits; arts, crafts, and culinary classes for all ages; social gatherings; and educational events featuring guest speakers.
Your support also helps sustain our ongoing community programs, including:
• Art shows and exhibits hosted at partner and community locations
• Community Band programs and performances
• Downtown Forney Market events
• Partnerships with other local nonprofit organizations
