The Food Lounge is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was established in 2021.

Seeing the number of people that face food insecurity, particularly during the pandemic, we formed this group with goals of reducing food waste in the United States and distributing food freely to families and individuals in need.

Food insecurity due to rising unemployment rates and increasing food prices from the pandemic has affected millions, forcing them to go hungry. According to the USDA, at least 38 million people in the United States face food insecurity, including 12 million children. Additionally, about 108 billion pounds of food is wasted annually in the U.S. Our mission is to decrease these numbers and work toward eradicating food insecurity and hunger.

At the Food Lounge, we extend our support to the community as a whole. In addition to serving the homeless, women, refugees, and cancer survivors, we also assist children with special needs, such as those with Down syndrome, and even entire families. We believe that fostering a sense of community by working together is crucial to achieving a significant impact on society. Through our efforts, we aim to raise social awareness about food insecurity and hunger, encouraging collective action to address these pressing issues.
