The SONshine Center is a day center for adults with special needs that opened in August, 2015. Our program gives our students a loving, fun, and educational environment in which they can socialize and be around peers. We currently serve 112 AllSTARS (SUPER TALENTED AWESOME RADIANT STUDENTS) and have been contacted by many more families wishing to place their adult child with us.
This year we are in need of funds for to purchase a handicapped accessible passenger bus. Â Due to new federal regulations we will begin providing Individualized Skills and Socialization Services to our AllSTARS and will be transporting them to various places in our community! Â Our AllSTARS will be able to enjoy leisure and recreational activities to promote community participation. Â We are excited to help integrate our AllSTARS into the community and help them develop skills and behaviors that support independence and personal choice!
Our mission is to embrace individuals with special needs by focusing on their abilities. A structured environment and intentional planning will allow each individual to participate throughout the day in activities that will enrich their lives.
